Old Age People Protection

The inevitable passage into old age is an aspect of life that should be accepted gently rather than resisted. In today’s fast-paced society, we don’t begin to notice the early stages of aging until the progressive process is well under way. Evidence is mounting that many elderly persons experience abuse and violence both at home and in institutions and long-term care facilities. A lot of people are also denied the ability to decide what happens with their own money, belongings, and medical care. They frequently are not allowed to access social security, health care, useful resources, employment, food, and housing.

Ageing is frequently viewed by governments as primarily a social welfare or development concern. Instead of being treated equally with everyone else in terms of their rights, this lowers elderly people to being charitable beneficiaries. To move from a social welfare model to one based on rights, a paradigm shift is required.
